For those of use who like our music with a Japanese flare :) I figured I might as well start a topic on it.

I'm still sad over the J-Rock Revolution concert that Yoshiki put together in May. Miyavi, Kagrra, Alice Nine, The Gazette, kra, MUCC, and other groups were there. Gah!!! I wish I could have been there ;_;

Oh and for fun, here's a >clip< of Miyavi telling the audience at J-Rock Rev. that his English sucks..

I'm really hoping that SKIN decides to do a show in the Philly area. I'd love to see Miyavi in person (of course I'd like to see Yoshiki, Gackt, and Sugizo as well).

Now if only Plastic Tree would tour the US, I'd be really happy.

I never used to be a fan of J-music until the past few months in which I've really become obsessed with anime. :S

So, off the top of my head, Ali Project and Perfume are excellent. Also, whoever does Marisa Stole the Precious Thing.

they never come anywhere near pittsburgh and no one will take me to see them anyway. *Sad*.

I know someone who went to J-rev. not personally, through the internet, but I know them nonetheless and they went.

I would love to see Plastic Tree. argh.

I heard the show was great too and I think the artists were really shocked that so many people went to see them. Like Yoshiki said recently, they hear that they have fans in the US, but they consider it a rumor. Now they've seen the fan base with their own eyes and maybe that will encourage them to come here more often. I know Miyavi is persuing his fan base in the US now since his music is now available on the US iTunes site.

Pura...if I could see them live, I'd die a happy woman. Geez they've toured Europe and everything. Why not the US. They know damn well that they have fans here.

I've decided to try and bring >Bad Girls for J-Rock< back to life again since I essentially let it fall apart. If anyone is interested please do drop by.

I would love to see Miyavi live.

A lot of the Japanese bands tour Europe. Moi Dix Mois has done it a few times as well as so many others.

Yeah, I saw that we had a new member this month...I was shocked  I figured, why not try it again...

Yes, I'd love to see MYV live as well. I remember when I wasn't very interested in him...now I have Miyavi on the brain...

It seems that a lot of groups fear coming over here for some reason. Probably because they're not sure of how they'd be received.

I think there was another member back in march that joined. I considered posting when I saw it, but I didn't at the time.

I remember when i liked him more because I thought he was cute than i liked his music but I listened to it just to get familiar with it and now I love it.

Makes sense.

Yeah, sadly with Miyavi the thing that drew me in was his lovely outward appearance. I hate when that happens. I'd rather get interested in an artist because of what I hear first. I feel so superficial if it's the other way around. Oh well, I like the way he looks and I like his music so all is good.

I'm starting to like a lot of the PSC aritsts now. I really like Alice Nine and The Gazette now and of course I've always like Kagrra (Issi's voice is lovely).

Sadly, I've become rather disappointed with L'Arc lately. Their new single just doesn't capture my attention. It sounds like a very generic L'Arc song to me and I'm not too fond of the P'Unk cover Honey.

That's pretty much how it started with me too as far as miyavi. Usually I hear a group/artist once or twice before I even consider them worth looking up.

Mm, Kagrra has always been a favorite of mine as well.

I haven't heard any of the new Laruku stuff, their older stuff will always be my favorite though it would be nice to have some newer stuff to add to the list of 'favorite'.

Well...

I like Morning Musume and anything related to Hello! Project. (Mini Moni, Pucchi Moni, Melon Kinenbi, Maki Goto, Michiyo Heiki, Natsume Abe, Tanpopo, and waaaay too many others to list that are in that family.)

That's pretty much the only j-pop I listen to/collect.

I like anime soundtracks for the few series I'm really into... and some random songs that friends have given me, like "Mayonaka no Door" by Yifei and some BENNIE K stuff.

I'm pretty lame when it comes to Japanese music. I don't really like anything done by guys/male vocals. And the uber-smexy semi-feminine rock star guys in Japan frighten me.

I'm actually the opposite. I like a few J-Pop artists, but I'm more of a J-Rock fan. For the poppier music I like people like Utada Hikaru, Arai Akino and etc. (people with good voices basically).

If you ever do become interested in any J-Rock artists, let me know. I might be able to post some songs for you.

(BTW...I love the ava. Azumanga Daioh is hilarious)

Thanks, and thanks again.

I'm sad to say I didn't make this avatar myself...
